About

I am a student at the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana, and I am taking online classes to get my masters in library and information science. I started graduate school in July 2012.  I find this time-consuming and rewarding.  I received my bachelor’s degree  from Eastern Illinois University. I graduated in May 2012 and I majored in history.  I hail from a small farming community south of Chicago and currently live with my parents.

I started this blog for my youth service librarianship class but it has been evolving into so much more that I can use in my professional and personal life.

I have recently been interested in these topics in relation to libraries and librarianship:

  • Innovative programs such as: Reading to Rover program, Mini golf at the library, How to draw comics
  • Expanding library services beyond the normal boundaries
  • Marketing
  • Advocacy/ Outreach
  • Electronic services
  • The future of libraries and librarianship
  • Intellectual freedom

I hope that readers enjoy my blog. Please feel free to provide feedback.  Enjoy!
